1.  Q:  How does membership in MT|SHRM help me?

A:  Middle Tennessee Society for Human Resource Management (MT|SHRM)
provides over 100 professional development and networking opportunities
for HR professionals.  In addition to two different monthly general
membership meetings, there are legal, diversity, employee relations,
compensation/benefits, training, leadership and community involvement
workshops, seminars and after-hours events.  Many of the workshops and
seminars qualify for continuing education and/or HRCI recertification credit.
And all MT|SHRM activities provide excellent networking opportunities with
            other local Human Resource Professionals.

those in a similar industry or level of professional HR experience.

improve the chances of finding that new HR job

5.  Q:  How is membership in MT|SHRM different from membership in national
           SHRM?

A:  The MT|SHRM chapter affiliates with national SHRM.  National SHRM
offers some research, white papers and national assistance to the chapters
as well as several annual conferences.  MT|SHRM offers regional programs
as well as additional opportunities to meet local colleagues.  Each
organization has a separate dues structure.  An HR professional in middle
Tennessee can join one organization without joining the other, although we
highly recommend belonging to both MT|SHRM and national SHRM.

6.  Q:  What are the dues for MT|SHRM?

A:  Dues in the local chater are $85/year if a member is not a national member
(and includes national members who DO NOT designate our chapter, #0083
as primary) and $65/year for those national members who provide us with
their national member number AND designate chapter 0083 as primary.
